Bước 2: Hoàn thành bài luận

The bar charts give information about protein and calorie consumption in India, East Africa, Latin America and North America.

Overall, people in all of the countries examined generally did not consume the amounts of protein and calorie considered to be ideal, with North Americans consuming more than both amounts recommended, and an exception being recorded among Latin Americans, who consumed nearly the suggested calorie intake.

In terms of average protein intake, it was advisable that the average amount of protein eaten was a little under 70 units, and North America was the only country that exceeded that amount suggested, with 80 units of protein being consumed in this country. Although people in Latin America ate less protein in comparison to the ideal protein intake, averaging at 45 units, somewhat similar patterns can be observed between Latin American and North America, with the amount of other kinds of protein being three times as high as that of animal protein, at 32 and 62 units for the former type, and 13 and 18 units for the latter one. Meanwhile, the consumption levels of protein in India and East Africa were relatively the same, hovering around 30 units and notably, their intake of animal protein and other types of protein were balanced, with each accounting for 15 units.

With regard to average calorie intake, the amount of calories one was advised to consume was a little under 3000 calories, and again North Americans did not adhere to this as their dietary choices were high in calories (3500 calories) when compared to the ideal calorie intake. By comparison, the calorie-consuming number among Latin Americans was just minimally lower compared to the level of consumption suggested, whereas far less calories were eaten by people from East Africa and India (2200 as opposed to 2000 units).

IELTS Writing task 2

Some people think it is a good thing for senior managers to have much higher salaries than the other workers in a company. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

(Một số người cho rằng việc các quản lý cấp cao có mức lương cao hơn nhiều so với những công nhân khác trong công ty là điều tốt. Tới mức độ nào bạn đồng ý hay không đồng ý?)

Bước 1: Phân tích đề

  • Từ khoá: Good thing, senior managers, much higher salaries, other workers
  • Câu hỏi: Ở đây đề bài yêu cầu thí sinh đưa ra quan điểm đồng tính hay phản đối, và Vietop sẽ theo hướng đồng tình nhé.

Bước 2: Lập kế hoạch cho bài luận

Thân bài 1Thân bài 2
Topic Sentence: Opponents of higher salaries for senior managers may argue that such a disparity could be perceived as unequal and unfair.
Supporting Ideas:
– Low-income earners may work longer hours and engage in physically demanding jobs but earn significantly less than senior managers.
– This perceived inequality could lead to demotivation and lower levels of staff morale and retention.
– However, this argument is not convincing as senior managers have typically invested considerable effort, time, and money in education and experience to reach their positions.
Topic Sentence: Providing higher salaries to senior managers can serve as a strong motivator for subordinates to develop themselves and climb the corporate ladder.
Supporting Ideas:
– Employees understand that greater experience and expertise lead to higher earning potential.
– Senior managers bear immense responsibilities that significantly impact business development and profitability.
– Competitive salaries for senior managers can ensure employee loyalty and attract talented individuals to the organization, benefiting the business as a whole.

Bước 3: Hoàn thành bài luận

It is argued by some that experienced employees holding management positions should be allowed to earn more competitive salaries in comparison to their counterparts in the same workplace. Although opponents of this idea may have certain valid points to argue against that school of thought, I believe that such an initiative should be implemented.

On the one hand, those opposing the idea that senior managers should have far higher earnings may justify their position by saying that such a vast disparity could be perceived to be unequal and unfair. This sense of inequality and unfairness may result from the fact that low income earners often work far longer hours and engage in physically demanding jobs, but they just earn a fraction of superiors’ income. In the long term, this could undermine employees’ morale and lead to lower levels of staff motivation and retention, when these employees of lower levels feel underappreciated. However, these lines of reasoning might not be convincing given the fact that such a perceived inequality cannot be justified, for the reason that in order to reach that position, the majority of these senior managers have to exert great effort, demonstrate perseverance as well as invest huge amounts of money and time on pursuing education and knowledge. As a result, they should be entitled to earn lucrative incomes compared to staff who do not have that same level of commitment.

Another point worth mentioning is that rather than the feelings of demotivation mentioned earlier, such a salary structure instead serves as a strong motivator for subordinates to focus on developing themselves so as to be able to climb the corporate ladder thanks to their accumulated experience and expertise. This is because they understand that the more experienced and skillful they are, the higher their earning potential is. Moreover, there is no denying that employees of senior ranks, particularly chief executive officers, have to bear immense responsibilities and tasks which can significantly affect the development and profitability of a business, and as a result it is plausible to say that their salaries should be commensurate with their enormous contribution. Finally, such a remuneration package could not only help ensure that experienced employees remain loyal to the organization, but potentially help attract more talented people in the labor market into its workforce, thus further benefiting the whole business.

In conclusion, while there are certain points of view regarding the opinion there should not be a huge difference in terms of income between managers and other employees with less authority and power, I am of the opinion that these viewpoints are misplaced, and instead considering the fundamental and irreplaceable part of seniors in a company’s success and sustainability , the potential incentives for less experienced staff to upgrade themselves and the attraction of other gifted workers, offering competitive salaries to senior managers is a sensible policy for any businesses to adopt.
