Task 2: Some people think that people who choose a job early and keep doing it are more likely to get a satisfying career life than those who frequently change their jobs.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is claimed that making an early choice of a certain occupation and pursuing it for years will bring people greater professional satisfaction than switching from one job to another. From a traditional point of view, I find no reason to disagree with this opinion.
First and foremost, selecting a job early can help people get well prepared in terms of both knowledge and skills. Expertise in any area requires a great amount of knowledge, which cannot be accumulated overnight. In this information age, it is certainly possible to “google” anything you do not know, but the workplace does not always allow you to depend excessively on the Internet. As for specific job skills, it obviously takes time, as asking "Uncle Google" does not really help, especially if on-the-spot performance is required and immediate success is expected. As a result, with great knowledge and skills, you will feel satisfied as one of the irreplaceable experts in your organisation, which is often associated with financial returns.
Second of all, staying employed in one and the same job for a long time will result in seniority, which plays a vital role in career satisfaction. The length of time you spend on doing a certain job is one of the decisive factors in bringing you professional promotion. Work performance is important, but seniority is indisputably essential in any work environment in the sense that seniority, together with excellent work performance, helps you earn a higher and higher position and, at the same time, feelings of being highly appreciated.
To recapitulate, my belief is that a happy career life results from good preparation and perseverance rather than from the ongoing change from one job to another.
